What I learned that certain events may occur and it will change your thought over something. The steps I had to take was to write a outline overview of what my essay was going to be like and think about the argument and claims I had to pick to support it and find quotes in the book that support my claims. We had to do timed essay about are theme of the essay were going to on. The way we wrote the essay was in TIED format because it would be easier to introduce the claim and back it up with evidence and finally discuss what it means. The leadership skill I used was to complete project effectively because I had to concentrate what I was writing about.
The last paper I wrote I felt confident about what I was writing on my paper and the things I wrote for the writing assignment. I was really interested because it was a book report on a book that caught my attention. The book is called Slaughterhouse-Five by Kurt Vonnegut, it was about his World War II experiences and how he was a prisoner of war in Germany. I did find this assignment to be a little challenging because we had to write about each chapter, however, we had to write each chapter in our own words and explain what each chapter was about. That’s why I found it a little challenging because I didn’t get to finish reading some chapters.
In this category I chose two specific questions to address. The first is, what can we do as teachers to foster supportive/safe writing environments? This is a great question, and probably the most important aspect when it comes to a student’s success and confidence. As a teacher it’s very important to have a safe and inviting classroom atmosphere that allows them to feel comfortable, welcome and that fosters the student’s creativity. If a student does not feel comfortable with classroom, for whatever reason or if they feel intimidated or threatened by a peer or teacher in that environment, the environment is harmful to their success, learning and the student will likely close off and have anxiety.
It took time, to find the right format, research my questions on what the font or order of the content would be. It was interesting and fun to write a different type of writing style. I improved on Information Skills by that I learned what kind of sources professors/teachers love and what sources they dislike. I also learned that there is no harm in asking the teacher what kind of sources they suggest. This has proven to be helpful and decreased the amount of time I would have spent on researching for
One area of the writing process that still needs further development is choosing a topic. I find choosing a topic difficult because depending on what the subject it is, there can be a lot of different topics I could choose. Also, something else I’ve learned from the writing process is that revising and editing are the most important steps in writing an essay. These two steps are important because it helps crisp up and fix any mistakes in the essay.
How am I supposed to write a paper? I constantly think of what words to use and my paper mostly consists of crossed out words. A recent poll shows there is little interest among today’s youth in becoming teachers. Albatross Have you ever killed a person? We are innocent people, but not if we killed people because when people kill a person with reason or without, they feel guilty about it. Also, English speakers have an idioms about when you kill someone “Albatross around his/ her neck”. Throughout my education, writing strategies persisted to be a challenge for me. I dreaded writing because I could never find ways to transition my thoughts from my mind to the paper. Ironically, a class that petrified me due to the amount of required writing ended up helping me in numerous ways. English 1301 and my professor prepared me for college and real life by giving me a foundation of effective learning strategies.

The first thing that came to mind was definitely you’re class, where I grew to be a confident writer. In my class we read about the importance of “shitty first drafts” which I think helped take the pressure off writing an amazing paper from the get go. I learned how to write for the genre and tried to hone in on my audience for the paper. Once I had my first draft finished there was a peer review in class, which is helpful because not only do you get feedback from them, but you also get to read their papers, which can give you ideas on what you could do better. After that, I took their feedback, revised, and then turned it into my professor to get more feedback.

This semester has been an ongoing challenge for me but has been an enjoyable one and I have not been presented with any impossible tasks. I have never been much of a writer, and during the course of this semester, I 've struggled to meet length requirements on the assigned essays. However, I do understand that not everyone is an excellent writer or even has to enjoy writing to get a good grade in this 1A class. From the start, with the first essay, I pushed myself to do my best and looked to multiple outlets to polish my writing, such as the online tutor, the writing center, the internet and the writer 's handbook.
Writing has always been an issue but yet interesting subject of mine. As hard as I try and write essays, and papers I just can’t get the hang of writing. But after taking this class, I did learn different writing technique and improved my writing proficiency, material body of formatting, and how to uncovering and properly use sources. Through class exams, essays, and a research paper, I was able to learn new writing skills. Although I have learned a variety of things, my writing still needs improvement.
