World War I and World War II both broke out into war from two different causes. The starting point of World War I was caused by the Archduke, Ferdinand, who was shot by Gavrilo Princip which was later blamed on the country Serbia. The uprise in arms and focal point of the war for World War II was because of fascism in Germany. Had the Archduke not been shot or the outburst of a leader in a country had not happened then neither World War I or World War II would have come about. Some historians may agree that World War I and World War II were causes of the same conflicts because of the large role that Germany played in both. The political instability and economic collapse of Germany after they signed the treaty that ended World War I lead Germany to become a fascist state. The Nazi part of fascism was dedicated to moving away from the Versailles treaty and Hitler was able to establish power through war and conquest. The people in Germany were without food or work. They were in a tremendous amount of debt after having to pay back countries for repairs. The people had had enough and were looking for a strong leader to pull them out of a hole. This made it easier for Hitler to emerge to power. With both the United States and western Europe preoccupied with their focused on fixing their depression it made it easy for Hitler to come under control of political power through fascism. The United States and other countries had politically failed to stop the rising threat of fascism. Hitler started to glorify his military and it brought hope to the people. In 1935, Adolf Hitler ordered the rearmament of the German army, even though it was forbidden by the Treaty of Versailles. Germany wasn’t allowed anymore than one hundred thousand troops and six war ships. They were not allowed to have any aircraft, submarined or tanks. Hitler ignored these provisions and the Allies were in no shape to oppose what he was doing. The commitment of Germany’s industry in massive production of weapon production pulled the country out of the economic crisis that had lasted since 1929. Hitler did exactly as he promised. He created jobs for the war torn country and blamed the Jews for the economic crisis that they were already in. With the rise of his military and political power in Germany he started to formulate Germany as an authoritarian state.
