What is the meaning of a true hero? Could it be selflessness or is it giving something up for something else? From stories of heroes out of children's books a hero is someone who sacrifices there life by laying their life down for someone else. If you had the chance to save yourself or save someone you did not know what would you pick? There is a story called “The Man in the Water” by. Roger Rosenblatt that uses sensory details, conflict, and setting to portray what is believed to be a true hero. Roger Rosenblatt uses sensory details to portray a hero by making the story appeal to the senses. For example, the conflict in the story is life or death because there is a chance that the mighty hand of the water will grab them and drag them under, draining the life out of them. However, the man keeps passing the only thing that could save him to the next person. In return of him doing this it seems to be the act of a true hero.
