The 1870’s people had no supply of plumbing or showering, showering in the 1870’s was just a wash bucket to clean them for the month. Plumbing was not an option in the 1870’s as there wasn’t such a thing, although people managed to get a bath with a providence of a wheat bag to clean them with. However if they used a soap made out of coal to clean with but left their skin chapped. Cleaning their sheets would normally consist of using vinegar as a cheap alternative ‘her pillow smelt of chicken coop’ in spite of having no plumbing they used a ‘wee housie’ to substitute a toilet used in 1970’s the 1970’s plumbing was an option people had showers and a big water supply to have a daily wash, this water supply was provided to everyone but paid for monthly or weekly. In the 1970’s they had a nice way of washing their clothes and bed sheets called washing powder to clean their sheets and clothes, but leave them smelling nice.
"During the "Middle Ages", from 476 to about 1100, European civilization slipped into semi-barbarism". It was a very hard and bad time, but a lot of historians debate about if Europe was in a "dark age" or not. The evidence states that Europe was a dark age. There was a lot of evidence that states that Europe was not in a dark age.
In the Middle Ages, the power of people impacted the society, because of the Feudal System. In other words, the rankings of people. There were four groups. The Kings and Queens were at the top, then the nobles, the knights, and last peasants and serfs(Doc. 1). Serfs and peasants had very little land given and they even had to provide food that they farmed for the knights and nobles.
Hasanzade Ismayil Ancient and Medieval History 09.11.15 To what extent, in what ways, did societies of Middle East change in the early Islamic period (622-750)? Before emerging of Islamic religion Arabs had lived the Arabian Peninsula which covered parts of Byzantine Empire such as Syria, EGHPT, and Sassanid Empire from the west, some parts of African continent, Persian Gulf, and Indian Ocean. They were stateless communities that majority of Arabs resided as tribes such as “Qurayish of Macca” and “Banu Hanifa of Yamama” in eastern Arabia. These tribes traded each other but there were not any kind of governmental or leadership skills in tribes to constitute themselves as one nation.

Time for a Scrub During the 1800s and early 1900s, even after tending to their cattles, cowboys would seldom take a bath, as they were under the impression that water could make them sick. Even women in the west would just use little water and quickly wipe themselves. If people had tubs, they would often share the same water. However, later the plumbing and awareness about necessity of the bath came around.

It is something many know they have to do but do not do it because of fear. In the novel, The Hate U Give by Angie Thomas, Starr Carter discovers that using her voice will strengthen her fight for justice in her community because she learns that speaking up promotes inclusivity, confidence, and a more educated society.
The years between 500-1189 were “Golden Ages” because in the late Middle Ages there was more farmland, better tools to farm it, meant more food. More food meant that the population grew in Europe! Another reason why this was a Golden Time is because Ghana had an army that could protect traders, they worked hard, but they were safe and protected, and they had plenty to eat. The first reason it could be considered the Golden Era is because there was more farmland, if they had more farmland they would have more food, and if they had more food that would mean they also had more population. My evidence is “Available farmland tripled, and the food supply increased notably bringing up the population.
Cleaning can take hours on end to accomplish especially if you have a house full of children. Sometimes it feels like déjà vu, you swear that you just cleaned that area and then see a trail of toys that were not there before. Don’t you wish there were times that you could get some help, even if it is just with one room? There was a super bowl commercial about Mr. Clean where it suggested that women find men who clean sexy. In this ad Mr. Clean is muscular, even attractive and begins proactively cleaning around the woman.

The daily life of a Medieval peasant was difficult and without a lot of resources. One reason life was difficult is because food was scarce. A lot of the food that they grew went to the market to be sold to the wealthy, they got some money in return, they mostly bought bread made from barley and rye. They got their water from a well to satisfy their thirst, they also mixed the water with honey. They also drank ale which is a form of beer.
Throughout the Twelfth and Thirteenth Centuries, rhythmic notation began to emerge. Medieval music presented rhythms in various modes. These rhythmic modes, created by the musicians of the Notre Dame school, represented six predetermined patterns of long and short note values. The performance of music utilizing these modes was based largely on the context of the patterns within the given piece. Around 1280, Franco of Cologne introduced the first cohesive notational system, which used note shapes to signify durations.
When using the work “dark” to describe something, the first thing that pops into mind is of something that is dead, has no value, and just something that is overall terrible. Thinking of the Middle Ages as the “Dark Ages,” it makes one think that tragedy occurred during that time period; however, that is the complete opposite as to what the Middle Ages really were. In the early Middle Ages, even though not much happened, people all over the countries were filled with life, when thinking of the Middle Ages as the “Dark Ages” one wouldn’t think that; therefore, the “Dark Ages” truly isn’t an appropriate term to describe the “Middle Ages” as a whole. Calling the Middle Ages the “Dark Ages” is insulting what people were achieving in that time period. Many get caught up in the fact of that time period being dark, when in reality they should be looking at the many progress they were making after.

New agricultural practices increased the food supply as well as technological changes expanding agriculture. These changes created a more intelligent social class of people.
