The story is written in a way that makes you believe the main character is alive and free, but in reality you are reading the last wishes of a dead man. The ending definitely caught me by surprise due to author’s efforts in playing with the main character’s point of view. I think the author also performed well with descriptive words as I could paint the scenes in my head like the, “...whirled on with a velocity of advance and gyration which made him giddy and sick” and “...the abrasion of one of his hands on the gravel...” (Bierce 604). In the Serial podcast, an 18 year old high school Muslim boy, Adnan, was accused of murdering his Korean ex-girlfriend, Hae. His accuser was his 19 year old friend, Jay. Serial goes through the alibis that were presented and weren’t present at the trial.

If Kingston stop at she “who killed herself,” many readers will think that her aunt kill herself because of abashment which can push her aunt in an adverse circumstance. Wishing for death is contrary to living with her child, and the disparity between those ideas is strong enough to ‘rip out’ her heart. Next, the man’s last conversation with the boy before he dies shows hope manifesting the sake of survival. Here, the man’s health is failing substantially and he knows he will soon die.
The Grandmother is the only member of the family still alive at this point. The misfit holds the grandmother at gunpoint. The grandmother uses faith as a way to escape death and pleads for the character to spare her life. “Pray!” The grandmother pleads pathetically.
Evan, I have to agree that this was a very interesting story; however, I found the story to be a bit disturbing. It reminded me of a Steven King novel and/or movie. I was in shock at the ending when the misfit took even the baby, children, and grandmother’s lives. They were of no danger to him or his accomplishes as maybe the father may have been, but probably not being three of them.
In the novel, As I lay dying by William Faulkner, the Bundren family go through a mental journey of loss and death of their mother later to go on a physical journey to bury their mother. To the conclusion of any novel, many have an opinion on what is much happy or not a happy ending. In the case of the ending to As I lay dying, include no real burial of how the mother wanted, which was the point of the physical journey in the first place, secrets comes out, one of the five the siblings gets taken away, and many are left with unfinished business, was not a happy at all for most of the characters. The novel is narrated by 15 characters that are not all part of the Bundren family but in some way connected.
While Autumn and Mathew are identified as misfits because they are feared, Sydney and Lyle are identified as so because of the family they are born into. Sydney becomes an outcast once his father is accused of burning down Leo McVicer's mill. After that he becomes "trapped in his own father's fortune" (Richards, 13) meaning that there is nothing to do to make people not see him as the mad son of the bad father. Lyle's fortune also becomes linked to it becomes he is a victim of the "Henderson horror" (Richards, 17) as well. Lyle says: "we were such outcasts" (Richards, 199) and that is because his father is an "outcast" so he is automatically one as well.
In the end, the Gutres family comes to a completely wrong conclusion about Espinosa. They believe that he is a god, and they crucify him. This is a tragic ending, but it is also ironic. The Gutres family owns an English Bible, but they do not understand the Bible.
It seems unbelievable that an entire family would allow themselves to be slaughtered the way it happens at the end of A Good Man is Hard to Find. However, because the characters of the story have very set, predictable personalities, the reader can use textual examples to extend these characteristics to the ending of the story. Analyzing each character shows that they do, in fact, act completely in character when The Misfit kills them off at the end of the story. This analysis will focus on the behaviors of June Star, Bailey and Grandmother. June Star is an almost cartoonish representative of a rude, spiteful child, though she’s perceptive enough when she wants to be.
The scene also sounds very pleasant, which relaxes both the reader and Marie-Laure. Although she ends up not being killed, Marie-Laure confronted the fear of death and managed to overcome
Ending After a long time, the judge finally complies to the widow’s request to help her against her adversary because he does not want her to bother him anymore. He says that: “I will see to it that she gets her rights. If I don 't, she will keep on coming and finally wear me out!”. Kingdom of God
At the end, she struggles not to believe that she has failed to revive him like she did all the time when she was younger. She believes that he still lives inside her because he is the first love of her life. This showed that everyone has a time when they must die and nothing, not even love, will change a person’s destiny. Throughout her life the young girl was always, in a sense, on call to be ready at a moment’s notice to rush over to Mr. Sweet’s home to bring him around and save his life. The narrator is seeing death first hand and believing in it for the first time in her life.
The Misfit was a purely evil character while the Grandmother had good intentions. Color symbolism was used throughout the story to give an insight of what is going to happen eventually. The animals also played a large portion of the symbolism attached to… The Misfit along with Hiram and Bobby Lee were all purely evil characters that killed everyone in his way.
