The Most Dangerous Game by Richard Connell promotes violence and inhumane actions. Rainsford, one of the main characters in the narrative is a hunter that published several books in his career. As he’s sailing he happens to get stranded on an island named Ship Trap Island. As he wanders he happens upon a character named General Garoff. Garoff is also a hunter, but let’s just say that he’s, “more serious” than Rainsford. He’s tired of just hunting the same animals over and over and so his conclusion is to find a new animal to hunt, the human. Garoff can be described as wealthy, suspicious, and thrill-seeking.
