All God’s Children: the Bosket Family and the American Tradition of Violence by Fox Butterfield explains the story of Willie Bosket and his family. Butterfield explains why he feels that Willie Bosket is the most violent criminal in the history of the New York Correctional system. Willie has committed more than two thousand crimes and of those crimes he has been convicted of two murders. He is currently serving three consecutive life sentences with 70 years of solitary confinement in a special cell created just for him. The American West changed greatly during 1860-1900. Some changes were great while others were not. The changes had a great impact on the way people lived and traveled. Their lives changed greatly during that time. Between 1860-1900 the history of the American West was heavily influenced by the actions of the national government.
There were many stories told about outlaws and lawmen during the 1800s in America, and many of them originated from the “Wild West.” There have been stories and legends about people who robbed banks, committed homicide, or threw wanted criminals in jail. Often, people would stretch the truth of what westerners actually did, to make their tale more compelling. The same goes for a popular stagecoach driver of the mid 1800s, a man named Charley Parkhurst, who is best known for being a woman disguised as a man.
The Battle of the Little Big Horn began on June 25, 1876 near the Little Big Horn River in eastern Montana. The battle took place between the U.S. Cavalry and northern tribe Indians. This war began over gold, and ultimately the refusal of the Sioux to move into reservations. General George Crook and his column were resting along the rosebud, when randomly a mass force of Lakota warriors came flying out of the mountains. Crook and his men withstood the stampede and prevented the Wyoming colony from being overrun.
The Fighting Sioux Name Change The University of North Dakota, found themselves in a battle against the Standing Rock and Spirit Tribes a few years back. The Standing Rock and Spirit Tribes found the term “Fighting Sioux” and the Indian head logo disrespectful and, in fact; racist toward their heritage. After Brittany Bergstrom, the author of The Fighting Sioux: The End of a Legacy? spoke with some of the students from University of North Dakota she starts to notice that changing the name is just as offensive to them as the name itself is to the Standing Rock and Spirit Tribes. “When the ‘Fighting Sioux’ lawsuit came about, I had really never thought one way or the other about the name… I became very defensive over the name.
The great herds were not decimated overnight. The slaughter was a gradual process, reaching its full momentum in the 1870s. The Native Americans of the Great Plains had relied upon and hunted buffalo for thousands of years. Without the arrival of the Caucasians—and with them the gun, the horse, and the market for bison products—it seems likely the Indians could have lived sustainably with the bison far into the future.
This rebellion's result was divided, Indians compromised Britain's power, but Britain needed to change their policy. This rebellion was violence. Two hundred warriors died because of this rebellion. Epidemics also killed indigenous people during and after Pontiac's rebellion. The famous story of this rebellion is one of British army officers of Fort Pitt sent smallpox infected blankets to First Nations that tried to infect smallpox to Indians.
The very first years of Anglo American settlers in the Americas were filled with conflict between the indigenous people and the settlers. This conflict was due to a difference in ideals, religion, and way of life. Another factor that contributed to the conflict between the Native Americans and the European settlers was the Natives inhabiting land that was wanted by the settlers. The European settlers understood that the Native Americans held the land they wanted and they were set on doing anything to acquire said land from the Native Americans. There were many ploys at play that lead to the eventual conquering of land.
A criminal will always have a weapon and a way to get more weapons, criminals do not follow the law. In Chicago, they have some of the strictest gun laws in America, but the shootings still increase; they have had at least 141 people shot and over 40 deaths since the start of 2018. No

The main character, Aeneas, constantly faces conflict from both humans and gods. Aeneas is a Trojan hero and prince who embodies pietas, driven by duty, honor, and devotion, which makes him an example of an ideal Roman citizen. Aeneas was called by the gods and determined to be a successful founder of Rome, but he faced complications along the journey. In each conflict along the way, Aeneas dealt with fighting and violence and could not find peace until the end.
The United States is similar to the town in the story. Although on the surface, humanity seems tranquil with no violence, it is not. Our society is responsible for a majority of violence. To name a few: gang activity, suicide, and gun crimes are among the list of daily
As these restrictions and laws on gun possession are uplifted, the culture in Texas begins to change as well, resulting in more and more people carrying guns out in the open. In addition to the increase of guns, the people in Texas have grown accustomed to the everyday life occurrence of these guns in their community so much so that it have blended into the society’s culture. This change in culture is evident in Manny Fernandez and Dave Montgomery research as they present tons of reliable data and perspectives to support it. Their credibility also comes from the New York Times, a well known newspaper company that have multiple articles in this topic. Also, each of the authors has written many articles related to gun control and gun violence, thus gaining enormous expertise in this field.
What is violence? Violence is, as described by Google,”behavior involving physical force intended to hurt, damage, or kill someone or something. Strength of emotion or an unpleasant or destructive natural force. And the unlawful exercise of physical force or intimidation by the exhibition of such force.” Both 1984 by George Orwell, and Brave New World by Aldous Huxley have violence threaded throughout each novel.
When we think of the American West, we always envision a land of rugged mountains and vast prairie, on which cowboys ride on horseback and chase after the Indians. This is the definition of the American West as presented on big screens in cinema, where most Americans’ perception of the myth of the American West comes from. Myth is a story that represents a culture's values and helps to define the individuals that comprise it. All cultures are based on myths.
Instead of banning or limiting guns, the evidence will show that removing the current restrictions and targeting individuals instead of guns will be a more effective process. The topic of gun control has two polarized opinions. One such opinion targets the individuals responsible for the crime, instead of just the weapons. John Moorhouse and Brent Wanner tackle the issue of gun control in their article “Does Gun Control Reduce Crime Or Does Crime Increase Gun Control”, which was published in 2006 in the twenty-sixth volume of the Cato Journal. These researchers looked at the effects gun control laws had on violent crime and gun violence in the individual states.
