The chapter talked about the process in which the NCLEX was formed. Based on what I read, the roots of National Council of State Board of Nursing (NCSBN) can be traced to the American Nurses Association (ANA) council of state board of nursing. In 1978 the NCSBN was formed to protect the public by making sure that all nurses coming into the profession have verified their knowledge and skills through the minimum standard level demanded for safe and effective practice.
