The world is a very interconnected complex system that allows for all types of movement and growth. Globalization is an example of this because it itself can be defined as the system of breaking down barriers between the worlds people and fostering a larger world community growth. Nation-states are the ones who have to foster this bonding because if not then the world would continue to be separate and not as uniform as it is today and can be in the future. Globalization has had appositive impact on the United States. As the U.S. enters a time of more and more globalization, the U.S. being defined as a nation state may not be needed anymore. Nation-states like the U.S. are forced to examine their own economic policies as other multinational corporations and other international commerce entities present themselves to possibly entering the U.S. economy. This leads to sometimes tax incentives for these larger corporations that can create more jobs and more goods produced in the U.S. Nation-states also have to regulate this by determining how much international commerce they want to allow into that nation’s economy. Nations want to focus on their own domestic economy but also have to allow international commerce into their economies to help grow and provide more money for the nation (Investopedia 2015). For example, only half of humanity has ever received or made a call. Half of humanity still lives on only two or less dollars a day. Globalization, though good for more developed and prosperous nations, does not provide a cure-all for humanity welfare. Since the Cold War, there has been a ninety percent increase in defense spending worldwide. Eight-hundred billion is currently spent worldwide, and this shows that even as we begin to come together, each nation is still ready to defend itself in case of a war. Nuclear weapons are a large part of the defense budgets of each nation also. But one use of a nuclear weapon can end decades of globalization in just minutes (Dhanapala
