As the soldiers trudged along the sheer mountain peak, one word echoing through their minds. War. Their hypnotized and manipulated brains were forced to believe that war was the only way for freedom. They were compelled to believe that fighting would lead to peace. But it surely didn’t. World War I resolved in the hopes of a better future. The harmful and toxic weapons and bombs used damage the environment for years on end. Furthermore, war endangers animal’s lives and destroys their habitats. A German officer in 1918 explained how the Flanders fields looked after the war. He described, “dumb, black stumps of shattered trees which still stick up where there used to be villages. Flayed by splinters of bursting shells, they stand like corpses upright. Not a blade of grass anywhere. Just miles of flat, empty, broken and tumbled stone.’’ Every year, human bones appear from the fields. Lately, nuclear bombs have been responsible for destroying life. Nuclear waste is a global issue that is persistent and threatens to kill all in its way. Long after the war, poisonous and toxic chemicals travel the globe in the atmosphere and ocean currents. Not only do they harm plants and animals but also human exposure to nuclear and chemical tests can lead to high infant mortality, leukaemia, malformed foetuses and other forms of cancer. Unfortunately, nuclear waste can never be completely eliminated so it is best to neglect nuclear bombs all
