I. Problems
a. Macro
1. Employee morale is low, when given an extra task they reply with “that is not in my job description.” This can cause other employees to become overworked, and nonexistent teamwork within the company.
2. Unrealistic union contracts that promise 40 hours of work, even when there is no work available, this is and will continue to cost the company an extreme amount of money.
b. Micro
1. Featherbedding and resistance to change is high, and this can be due to the fact that family members are working with each other.
2. Unnecessary expenses are hindering the profits of the NoGo Railroad, due to pay and work guarantee, and over filled job positions.
II. Causes

Family: The workforce primarily consists of family members, which causes featherbedding and nepotism. This results in a resistant to change, because there is a possibility of unemployment for a family member.
3. Lack of support: Due to the nonexistence teamwork between management and the employees, and there is no strategy or productive policies being implemented.
III. Systems Affected
1. Values: there is no interpersonal connection and loyalty between the employees and the railroad company.
2. Technical: clerks can only replace clerks, and telegraph operators can only replace telegraph operators, which is causing clerks to have nothing to do, while the company is spending money on travel and living expenses for telegraph operators.
3. Psychosocial: The employees do not want change, and featherbedding is causing work output to be limited. Also, the fact that the hiring process is focused around hiring family members.
IV. Alternatives
1. Planning and allocating: Management needs to plan and organize job positions and availability, so there is an adequate amount of employees ready to work.
2. Job description: employees need to learn thoroughly their job description, so they can no longer use the excuse “that is not in my job description” when given a
