Moreover, technology has reached a point where children are more consumed by it than by other pass times such as fairy tales. The only common connection between Fairy tales and video games is that they both entertain children. However, fairy tales are not only important as a form of entertainment; according to Bettelheim, they also teach children about life and, subconsciously, help them find meaning in it. The Brothers Grimm use repetition and dialogue in the quote to convey the immediate desire for the princess to retrieve her ball. The phrase “Whatever you want” is repeated in the scene describing the panic in the Princess’s voice and the immediate need she has to retrieve her ball. This scene shows that without fully thinking about what the frog was asking for or what she was willing to give up she agreed to everything because in her mind all she carried about was that ball and nothing else.
