Greek Poet Homer wrote, and is famous for, The Iliad and The Odyssey. It was predicted that he was born around the 9th or 8th century B.C., Homer was born and died in Greece, Homer lived in Greece. The year Homer died is unknown. Homer was born to Telemachus and Epikaste. Both The Iliad and The Odyssey were written during the trojan war, a war between the Greeks and Trojans. Homer was believed to be blind, and statues of him had him with his eyes closed.
The Iliad tells the story about the trojan war, the battle of Troy, Achilles, and Achilles’ wrath against King Agamemnon. In this poem, the characters are Zeus, Hector, Helen of Troy, and Aeneas. This poem talks mostly about Achilles’ bravery and the worship of war. The sequel to The Iliad is The Odyssey, and The Odyssey talks about Odysseus, greek hero, escaping Calypso, battling the Cyclops, surviving Hades, and has goes through trials, before returning home to his wife, Penelope.

In Plato’s work Homer is stated as Greek culture’s leader, and in Aristotle’s work Homer is referred to as an unique poet compared to other poets. About half of Homer’s work were written as
