“The Odyssey”, a mythical greek epic by Homer tells a story about Odysseus journey back home to Ithaca, after fighting in the Trojan war. The first problem he gets into is when sailing through the Ionian sea and getting shipwreck and stuck on Calypso's island. When getting shipwrecked Calypso falls in love with Odysseus and promises youth and immortality if he stays. After 7 years Zeus asks her to release him so that he can make his way home. Next in the journey came the island with the Lotus Eaters. Getting to the coastline Odysseus sent three of his men to explore the island. When the men found the Lotus Eaters they said they will not harm them and offered them a Lotus flower to eat. This Lotus flower through showed harm to the men. It made them thought that they should stay on the island forever and to forget their homeland Ithaca. …show more content…

Then came the island filled with Cyclops. Odysseus and his men explored the island and came up to a cave. Odysseus took twelve of his best men and told the others to stay with the ship. When he went into the cave the Cyclops was not there, but tending to his sheep. The men saw cheeses and pens filled with lambs in the cave. The men had an idea and told Odysseus that they should take the cheeses and the lambs on to the ship and sail away. Through Odysseus refused because he wanted to see the Cyclops and what he had to offer. Once the Cyclops, Polyphemus, arrives Odysseus explains that Poseidon wrecked there ship and that they are survivors. Then the Cyclops picked up two men and ate them for his dinner. Odysseus and his men went to hide, but then in the morning the Cyclops ate more men for breakfast. That’s when Odysseus started thinking of a way to get out. Then he found a beam that he could sharpen to stab the Cyclops. Finally the Cyclops came and Odysseus offered him some wine. He also told the Cyclops that his name was
