Book Journal Four Prompt: How was the novel's resolution? If you were the author would you change or add anything to the ending? Why or why not? How would a change affect the storyline and the reader? I feel that the Once and Future King’s resolution was bad and resulted from the author, having nothing else to do, decided to make extreme corruption happen. The corruption is as follows; two of the Knights of the Round Table, Mordred who is Arthur’s son and Agiwane accuse Guvener of committing treason by loving Lancelot. The queen is found guilty by about 15 guards led by Mordred and Agiwane, the guards banged down the door and found Lancelot in her room. Mordred had manipulated the situation to force King Arthur out of the castle so he could bang down the door. Lancelot rescues Guvener from being executed because of the treason accusation being found true and goes into a castle. The castle is attacked, Guvener and Lancelot surrender, and Guvener goes back to being the queen. That is not even the end of the corruption. King Arthur is forced to banish Lancelot by Mordred. Lancelot goes to France and is attacked by other knights of the round table. …show more content…
This is because even though he wanted to hate King Arthur, King Arthur was kind to him and Mordred had no legitimate reason to hate Guvener who he accused of treason. Why not try to hurt King Arthur in a way? I would have added some accusation against King Arthur that would have forced him away. I also would have made the rumor of King Arthur's death not come from Mordred and in general made him less corrupt. I also feel that this turn of events would be more logical and realistic than all the corruption that happened. This would also make Mordred more likable and it seems cruel to have King Arthur’s son just come to Arthur’s castle, be shown kindness and then accuse Guvener, who he had no reason to
