ARGUMENT I. The District Court erred in denying the Motion to Suppress because the evidence obtained from Assante’s personal laptop resulted from an intrusive, non-routine border search conducted without reasonable suspicion. The Fourth Amendment protects “[t]he right in people to be secure in their persons, houses, papers, and effects, against unreasonable searches and seizures . . .”U.S. Const.
Mari Pearlman’s article Cheating in School Reflects Basic Confusion in Society, states “By emphasizing the wrong things in a student testing, we end up inviting a culture of compromise.” Pearlman suggests that society has grown to compromise cheating, meaning it is okay with certain scenarios but not in others. Mari Pearlman also asserts that parents cheat with taxes, and cheat at their work but want teachers to go hard on cheating teens in a classroom. Teens and children learn from those they surround themselves with, and not just their peers. Pearlman points out that students who tend to get caught cheating live in a household where parents bend the rules a little.
Module Three Rough Draft One of the most common problems in our schooling system is that students cheat. This happens a lot with older students who struggle with the topic that their assignment is on. In “The Shadow Scholar” by Ed Dante, and “Introduction: Fraud and Fundamental Misunderstandings” by Shane Borrowman shows how students cheat to move on in their education. In both of these texts the authors tell their first-hand stories of their different students cheating.
Too many students are getting high grades in classes they put forth no effort into. They copy off of a smart students because they know that the correct answers will score them a good grade. On paper, they are surpassing the ones who aren’t cheating because unlike the scholars who they copy from, the cheaters can pick and choose their answers from several ideal sources. By ensuring that these students are punished for cheating and are given the appropriate grade, teachers would be forcing them to learn the course material because the student would fail

The nature of cheating originates from the common misconception of helping others and a student’s lack of self-confidence. Plagiarism, not so different from cheating, disperses from the broad range of information on today’s technology. Through an authentic study, it has been revealed that teachers have established many students who have cheated their way through complexed assignments. Even misleading students who have kept a high grade point average has been found as participants of academic dishonesty. Today, professors seek to find different measures that should be taken to decrease cheating and plagiarism.
Isakov and Tripathy quote Callahan, the author of “The Cheating Culture: Why More Americans Are Doing Wrong To Get Ahead” on why students may be extrinsically motivated. He reveals that outside motivators such as parents, teachers, and other students cause the enormous pressure to do well in school. This affects many students and leads to stress and unethical behaviors such as cheating (Isakov and Tripathy). Here, Callahan demonstrates that not only can students be personally motivated to cheat, but also be externally motivated to cheat by their environment. Pressure from society, parents, even friends and other students can have a negative impact on students because of social conformity.

Although cheating reflects students negatively, the excuse of having “no-time” also comes into play. Students are also individuals, humans. They work alongside playing sports while also juggling school work and a healthy amount of sleep. Some have no time to set the time to study for the tests or stay up all night finishing all the assignments. Students lack enough time which forms the need to cheat for extra help.
High school and College students’ ethics have elevated over the years and has only increased. Cheating has been a tremendous epidemic for a long period of time and recently skyrocketed because of the creation of smartphones and electronics. Students who are academically dishonest are usually in honors and advanced placement classes because they are challenged and learning a more rigorous curriculum than the other students who are in college prep courses. The reason for their actions is because of academic stress students receive on a daily basis to obtain admirable grades, so they can go to a well-known college.

Now, in college, cheating will place an academic warning on your official transcript, making it visible to other institutions. I am going to come clean, about cheating in the far past. I am taking, full responsibility that cheat is a unethical habit. Most students decide to cheat, because they want high grades, without much effort. We are taught the difference between the right and wrong since our childhood but are always told that the lying and cheating always makes things difficult but when students go to school and college they are faced with different dilemma as then the cheating seems to be the easier way to get good grades. They do not really see cheating as the wrong way of doing things they see it as an easy way of doing things .They do not even consider it as an unethical thing because they have been taught that to do the right thing is the easy way .They are taught that the right path and the ethical path is always the easy one but in reality that is not true. The ethical and right path is difficult and complex as J.K.Rowling has said, “Sometimes we must choose between what is right and what is easy.”
