The Pact The book that I read over the summer is called The Pact and the author is Sampson Davis, George Jenkins, and Rameck Hunt. The book is very good in my opinion and this book is mostly about a group of boys and the how their lives changed throughout the story. The boys names are Rameck, George, and Sam they are very good friends throughout the book. They all had problems either with their families like no dads or smoking problems and they had problems with their friends like hurting people or drinking/smoking. The central idea is that the power of positive families and friendship can help one to beat all odds. This idea developed by getting new friends and going to the teachers for help. The three boys stay with each other and when one person gets hurt they help each other. They all had problems in the beginning of the book like parent problems or friends trying to force them to do something. This central idea appears in the beginning of the story because they all had problems and the teachers, family members, and positive friends helped them beat all the odds. Rameck had family problems which he didn’t like and his mother had smoking problems. At school all his teachers helped out the issue and they made him feel happy. They had a connection together and became good friends in school and out of school. They worked on the things he liked and he liked school very much. The central idea experienced change during the novel by making a pact together and staying together. Until the boys met up at high school they didn’t have a strong supportive group of friends who focused on positive things. They went to school and they all wanted to become rappers but that didn’t work out to well for them. Then they made a pact, which was that they have to stayed together no matter what and succeed in their dream and become doctors. Throughout high school they wanted to become doctors and be successfully in life. During the toughest times in high school they figure out a way to stay together and try to stay out of trouble. The teachers helped them out on what they wanted to do in life and taught them what that career is about. They separated because two of them were smarter then the other one and they stated in communication and visited each other sometimes not all the time. They wanted to all go to the same collage but it didn’t happened so they have to stay in contacted. Without their moms or guardians they would not have done well in school and probably would not have gotten into university high together.
