Perhaps the most famous line from the Declaration of Independence, written on July 4, 1776. 1776 by David McCullough is about just that: the year 1776, though it does mention events in previous and following years, in American history. McCullough’s purpose for writing the book is very clear: to educate readers about the details of the American Revolutionary War from the view of both sides in and around 1776. McCullough achieves this through mostly logos, but uses ethos and pathos just as well.
In Patrick Henry’s speech in the Virginia Convention he talked about how the people of Virginia needed to fight the British. In Benjamin Franklin’s speech in the Convention he talked on how he thought the Constitution had some problems and how he thought it could be different to help all the people of the country. In both of the speeches there are a few similarities as well as some differences. Both Patrick Henry and Ben Franklin they talked about what the people should do and how they can do it using by using their ability to move the people to action.
The Speech in the Virginia Convention by Patrick Henry and the Speech in the Convention by Benjamin Franklin both have similarities and differences but they are both about the views on compromise and when to stand firm. Patrick Henry had a better standpoint then Benjamin Franklin did in their speeches. Patrick Henry’s speech had a stronger point of view than Benjamin Franklin The difference between these speeches is that Patrick Henry implores his countrymen to declare war against the British he wanted to fire up the representatives at the convection in VA.
Thomas Jefferson during the 1790’s-1800’s while working with federalists Alexander Hamilton, his viewpoints were different. The Declaration of Independence was a document that freed the colonies from Britain. After the French and Indian War the British put out a new control called the Proclamation Line of 1763. The Proclamation Line of 1763 didn 't allow the colonies from settling west from the Appalachian Mountains. Another act that King George III put into place is called the Stamp Act. The Stamp Act is a law that required that the colonists buy and place tax stamps on many kinds of documents.
These roles were important at the time, because the men involved eventually would bring us to freedom in America. I believe that the men are portrayed in the texts as being influential and intelligent. The texts portray them as people who have made an impact in our country, as they serve great value in our historical timeline. Though Jefferson and Adams both participated in the writing of the Declaration of Independence, it was unfortunate that they had both died 50 years before the day of the Second Continental Congress was approved in July 4, 1776. John Adams was also close to George Washington, and they would often spend time together as good friends.
Extra credit Movie: "The Patriot" Where and in what ways (if any) did you find the film to be historically accurate? Use textbook pages to support your answer. I chose the movie "The Patriot", thinking I would have a good visual glimpse into the Revolutionary War which I am becoming fascinated with the more I learn about it. I did not find the real intrinsic issues of history to be addressed in this movie except for a few relevant items. The Declaration of Independence was stated as 1776 and this was indeed accurate and the 13 colonies were fighting Great Britain.
The American Revolution set the background for the modern nation state as well as molding the modern Army. Both countries have many differences and similarities, ranging from the individuals fighting these wars to tactics and strategies they used to win. These countries shared the same idea of freedom and independence, the difference is they used different methods of accomplishing this goal. It’s difficult to pin point which country chose the best method, but we compare some of the facts and take a deeper look as to what was transpiring in both of these Revolutions. In the 18th Century the main problem the Army had was manpower.

The movie 1776 is a musical which reflects the process it took to produce the Declaration of Independence. It follows John Adams as he attempts to recruit people to vote for American Independence from Britain. Overall the movie does a good job of accurately representing the process it took to have the Declaration of Independence passed. However there are a few details which are not accurately represented within the movie.
The founding fathers were smart men who the world looked up to because of their smart decisions, actions, that directed the U.S. to what it is today. But sadly in today’s society most people either have forgotten the things they did for us, or they just do not care. The founding fathers were great men who led this country to victory in war and on the political front. And often early U.S. history is portrayed as moving smoothly for the colonies turning into the a country of its own , but in reality it was just the opposite. The Patriot is a movie filmed displaying the time of the American Revolution, it is a very historically inaccurate film that features few historical accuracies. The Patriot offers inaccurate character portrayal, cultural details and social details. The few dainty accuracies of the film include apparel, battle occurence, and gun usage. As the movie progresses many parts throughout the film do not align with proper historical accuracy. The inaccuracies may seem true to the common eye but with proper intel it is clearly seen to be erroneous.
Compare and contrast of The French Revolution and The American Revolution The American revolution and the French Revolution are two major incidents happened in the 1700s, which had intense social impacts on both French and American societies.
