“The Pigman and Me” by Paul Zindel Sometimes not being on things can be problematic for you. Paul Zindel is the main character in the story, “The Pigman and Me.” Paul is the new kid, at a new school, and not knowing the rules dramatically changes his experience at the school. Paul is a boy, that doesn’t fit in well, and has issues with rules, and sometimes acts without thinking. This causes major problems for him, including a fight. When Paul was in gym class, he encounters his first major issue at this new school. When a classmate approached him about a paddle, he blindly struck out and hit him. “That was when I did something berserk.” He acted without thinking things through, and the consequence was more than he could handle.
