Tangerine, a novel written by Edward Bloor is about a visually impaired boy named Paul Fisher.Paul and his family move from Houston, Texas to Tangerine,Florida. This realistic fiction novel shows you Paul Fisher's everyday life through the eyes of Paul Fisher himself. Consequently Paul was visually impaired at a very young age sadly losing his peripheral vision. Paul never remembered how he lost most of his vision but his parents and family had told him that he starred at a solar eclipse for too long and blinded himself. As an option for paul he was offered a spot in a new junior high called Tangerine middle school, Paul chose to attend Tangerine Middle as a fresh new start which included no IEP. When Paul had arrived at Tangerine Middle he had heard many rumors about gangs and how all of the students who attended Tangerine middle where bad news and he was advised not to get involved with them. He still ended up going to Tangerine middle and being escorted around school by a girl named Theresa Cruz. Theresa introduced Paul to all of her friends which in the beginning where not the greatest of people yet Paul saw their real personality deep down on the inside and eventually became quite good friends with all of them. Paul had ended up asking Ms. Bright, the coach of Tangerine Middles soccer team to be on the soccer team and a surprise to Paul she had said yes. Paul had received his uniform and officially was a War Eagle. Meanwhile during Paul's whole Middle School experience he wonders how he starred into a solar eclipse for an hour and blinded himself. Then one day he was behind the wall on a dirt path behind his house when Erik and Arthur pulled up and where as usual trying to scare Paul about causing a ruckus at Eriks senior night yet Paul wasn’t going to let Erik get to him this time and had confronted Erik about killing Luis Cruz brother of Theresa and Tino Cruz.
