The Political Compass Visualized My View Of Politics

The Political Compass visualized my perspective of politics and my ideal shape of how a state should be run. My first reaction, after analyzing the graph, was a surprising one as the results clearly reflected my thoughts on the government, although many questions did not seem related to personal beliefs about politics. The first result I noticed, is the fact that I am on the libertarian side. This is obvious as I definitely would prefer a government to run in a way so that the people have the freedom to raise a voice. Furthermore,I believe that these results came up because my ultimate goal, and for may other citizens, is to have a libertarian government. In another point of view, I saw that I am a left wing supporter, but only slightly. I believe that the government should operate with communities joining the debate, so that our voices could go through. Obviously this is not what’s actually happening in the real political world, but most of my classmate got this libertarian-left result. These results indicate and highlight the failures of politics today, everywhere around the world. The graph visualizing the main parties and politicians of each country was very surprising and shocking. There were three controversial points that demonstrated the failures of politics nowadays. The first element was that the dominant and leading parties and politicians are focussing their policies and ethics at the opposite direction of most people’s beliefs. Most politicians want a authoritarian and right wing government, unlike the results most of my classmates got, libertarian and left wing. I was disappointed at this, as many parties look like they target what normal citizens desire so that our life becomes more convenient.
