In religion there are many accounts of an afterlife, spirituality, and our place in the world. One thing that connects all religions beyond the differences of ideals, methods, or practices is the underlying notion that there is something greater than ourselves. This chapter helps delve into the greater workings of religion as its own self and for that I truly admire its notion of being able to see the greater picture of religion rather than seeing it from a subjective viewpoint. Many religions tend to focus on themselves and negate other religions without realizing that they all have something in common, art.

Religious ancient Egyptian art also included objects that were used in religious ceremonies. These objects included amulets, jewelry, and other items that were believed to possess magical properties. These objects were often inscribed with religious texts and symbols and were intended to provide protection to the wearer. Many of these objects have been found in tombs, indicating that they were considered important enough to be taken into the afterlife. Just as Europe was filled with sculpture, so was Egypt. I believe that the act of creating art can help them connect with their inner selves and with something greater than themselves. In my opinion contemporary religious art challenges ancient religious art. Unlike ancient Roman or ancient Egyptian art, contemporary religious art Is more vibrant and diverse that explores spirituality and faith in modern context. It challenges traditional religious iconography and explores new ways of expressing religious themes and ideas. It blends elements of different religious traditions, addressing social and political issues and using technology. Contemporary religious art continues to push the boundaries of religious expression and expand the possibilities for spiritual exploration. Contemporary art uses a wide range of mediums using painting, sculpture, installation, performance, and digital media. Unlike traditional religious art, contemporary religious art blends elements of different religious traditions together and promotes this sense of unity between different faiths. In ancient art there was such a disconnect between different religions, and in contemporary art it focuses to blend different religious backgrounds and traditions together.
