Vimy Ridge was considered Canada’s greatest victories. This is the time when the country came out from Britain’s shadow and was capable of doing great things as their own country. Canadian soldiers earned respect and a reputation of effectiveness and a tough army. On April 9th 1917 the Canadian army were ordered to attack Vimy Ridge which was located in Northern France in the pas-de-Calais region. Near the border of Belgium, is a village called Vimy which was equipped with Barbed wires and machine guns.
Both Pollan and Hurst agree that animals should be a part of our diet, however they disagree on the amount and type of meat people should consume. Pollan believes that people should limit the amount of meat that they eat, and that it should be organic (376). Hurst, on the other hand, believes that animals are free to be eaten, and that industrial farming is the only way to satisfy the increasing population. Countless lives locked away in cages and forgotten about have overwhelmed our society, it has left blood stains on our history as a species and if history has taught us anything, it’s that we have a choice to change our ways of adjusting to situations. A war which was fought in means of ending such criminal acts, yet we as human beings do little to nothing to end the terrible crimes of animal deaths in shelters. Between these problems lies a terrible truth, nearly every year, almost eight million cats and dogs have been placed in shelters around the world. Out of these very large numbers, half will be euthanized. That equals to one animal being put down every 8 seconds.
I think elephant body parts should be illegal to bring to the United States because it is harming the elephant and it is leaving the baby elephants along to die and not be able to be with the herd, another reason is that trump should lift the ban on elephants body parts from coming in to the United States, my third reason is that the endangered Species Act. And also people are also complaining about the populations of the elephants are dropping down in Africa. So put on your thinking caps and lets get in to the reasons why. One reason why I’m against elephant trophies is that it is harming the elephants and it is leaving the baby elephants along to die and not be able to be with the it’s mother. Just imagine you seeing a baby elephant along and has no one to look after it.
Have you ever wondered about de-extinction of animals? If you haven’t, I am going to tell you what de-extinction is and why I think it is a bad idea. De-extinction is the process of bringing back and animal from past times that has gone extinct. I think it is a bad idea because of how much it would cost, we don’t know where the animals would live, and we don’t know what they would eat. These reasons are why I think bringing back these animals is a bad idea.
Millions more lose their lives from disease, starvation, moving vehicles and abuse. Animals are used by greedy breeders who breed them in cramped conditions until their bodies give out. So much of this is caused by overpopulation due to irresponsible pet owners who allow their pets to run free and do not spay or neuter them. Overpopulation is such a big problem and nobody has the time or the resources anymore to handle all of it at once. If people simply spayed and neutered their pets, this could be very preventable Some people think that spaying and neutering isn’t “natural”.
Hunting has been a part of our society since the first man set foot on this continent, but animal rights movements have become popular in our society recently that has questioned the necessity of hunting in our modern times. Because of this, animal populations are left freely to where they can multiply at an alarming rate. Hunting is a great means of controlling animal populations’ growth, although greatly opposed by many. While hunting is a very controversial topic in our society, there are great points for being for and against it. Hunting is a way that humans see to keep balance of the ecosystem.
Zoos are sometimes seen as necessary but poor alternatives to natural environment. Discuss some of the arguments for and/or against keeping animals in zoos. Humans should not be able to interfere much with wildlife. Interfering with wild animals can result in major problems. For example, when people kill too many of the same animals it can cause them to become endangered or even worse, extinct. People do this for their meat or another part of their body. Animals are attacking people and other animals causing them to get injured or even get killed.
Wildlife Conservation is often seen as a bad thing, but if you look at it from my perspective, then it is actually a good thing. People think of it as holding wild animals captive, but we are actually protecting them from poachers. The purpose of Wildlife Conservation is to protect the animals in danger, which I am in agreement 110%. Other people argue that we shouldn’t have conservations, but they don’t know the harm that can happen to unprotected animals.
The inhumane killing of animals has become a universal problem in which, according to Farm Animal Rights Movement, “Tens of billions of land and sea animals are killed every year just for U.S. food consumption” (FARM). Though mainly killed for food production, there are many instances of animal slaughter due to overpopulation and disease control. The bison population, a victim of the latter, has experienced an extreme decrease in numbers in the United States. Native to North America, bison once covered much of the continent. However, the population tremendously decreased during the 19th century because, according to National Geographic, “Settlers killed some 50 million bison for food, sport, and to deprive Native Americans of their most important natural asset” (National Geographic).
Zoos have been around since the eighteenth century. A zoo is defined as a compound where wild animals are kept for viewing and studying. The purpose of a zoo is mainly for education and protection, preserving animal species that are either at a risk of becoming extinct or for increased collection size (Jamieson). Animals from around the world have been enclosed in an area where we can admire and study these fine creatures. However, many modern zoos around the world have introduced animal shows, petting and feeding sessions to attract more visitors in order to earn more money.
Thesis Not just for our health but also for animal’s welfare, we need to be aware about what procedures animals are passing by and how they are being treated. Many of the most fatal sicknesses that affect humans can be prevented if we involve more in those harsh procedures that they suffer and try to look for new solutions to make it stop. Introduction Many times we are not even aware that our cold actions are not just affecting the defenseless animals but ourselves, our country, our economy. We don’t even think of how those actions are affecting the rest of the population, we just care about selling products and making money.
In recent years, the topic of saving the Earth from Humans has shown itself in many conversations amongst the people of the public. Saving the World will be an issue we must solve in the near future because we are causing a mass extinction for animals, and we are harming and killing humans, but we can resolve it by using technology to reduce global warming and setting aside reserves. The most important thing humans must do in regards to this topic is begin to educate themselves and others on how drastic we must be in regards to it. The first major issue that must be made clear is the great peril animals are in, and what this means for the planet and humans.
On the one hand, some people are favorable for killing animals. It has many opinions why they have accepted. Their reasons with cruelty make them get many benefits such as nutrient, knowledge, safety, prevention, and money. The first reason for killing animals is humans killed them for consuming such as pork made from pigs, beef made from cows, and lamp made from sheep. Human’s life exists to cause by plants and animals.
