By providing after school activities, we can provide them with a sense of belonging while teaching them skills to ensure their success in school, employment, and relationships (Welsh). As previously mentioned, the peer pressure, family environment, and need to feel accepted is a huge contributor in adolescent drug abuse. Therefore to beat it, we need to meet these specific needs.
The second portion of the community aspect would in fact be a community treatment centers. These centers would provide parents with the resources and counseling required to correct the negative situations at home. These centers will also have social workers and investigators to assist in removing the children from unsafe situations at home if the parents choose not to seek help.
