The domination of an organized minority over the unorganized majority is inevitable. The power of any minority is irresistible as against each single individual in the majority, who stands alone before the totality of the organized minority. At the same time, the minority is organized for the very reason that it is a minority. (Mosca. 1953)

In the annals of history, states and societies have been ruled by small but superior assembly of people that controls a large amount of authority and influence. More than just technical expertise, elites need to establish right culture, empower people, build analytical infrastructure and acquire reliable data to succeed in analytics. Although intuition and past practices may give elites cogent clues in deciphering future events, often the new situation presents itself in a different context. To complicate matters, collecting data superficially, ignoring certain pieces of information and making assumptions rather than investigating or using self-confirming reasoning produces cognitive errors in the perception of veracity. Empowering ordinary people should be the foremost goal of the intellectuals. Objectivity must play a major role if one is to espouse ideas that are contrary to the actual reality or to combat outdated thoughts, keeping any political or ideological leanings separate.
