Veterans day is a day which pays off tribute to veterans living or dead that have served time to help our country Many people around the world are homeless and the majority of them are homeless veterans that served in wars like the vietnam war. The age range for veterans are usually in their 50 and 60’s and the numbers are increasing rapidly. In January 2016, communities in America identified 39,471 homeless veterans at that point in time. About 1.4 million of americans Veterans are at risk of being homeless due to poverty and lack of support networks and overcrowding living condition. 96 percent of homeless veterans are ales from poor disadvantages and approximately 45% of the 1.6 million of the veterans from iraq and are disabled and seeking …show more content…

Becoming a veteran highers the risk of becoming homeless. Study proves that Veterans become homeless because some veterans suffer with PTSD ( post traumatic stress disorder) which makes it harder to communicate with people and get a job which makes it more possible to become homeless(Tchen). PTSD isn’t the only thing that keeps veterans homeless but some veterans been serving for almost more than 6 years and have no real world work experience which increases homelessness. Many veterans become homeless because they often cope with stress returning from service injured witch can cause substance abuse and addictions(Gonzales).Veterans have a higher risk of homelessness because of PTSD (post traumatic stress disorder) ,not having work experience and getting employed and also civilian isolation.

PTSD (post traumatic stress disorder ) is a disorder that develops in people who experienced shocking scary and or dangerous events. Fewer veterans from wars in iraq and afghanistan and 2.63 percent are older people (sikka).Two-thirds of iraq and afghanistan veterans suffer from PTSD, in addition to combat PTSD 7.7 percent of male homeless iraq and afghanistan veterans
