What’s so bad about Immigration? Immigrants see America as a structured foundation where their children are able to get a stable education and have the chance to enrich their lives. The issue of illegal immigration has been an ongoing controversy for years now and will only continue to grow if we don’t come to realize the positive effects it has. Many Americans view immigrants as those who come here to take jobs away from the citizens and waste americans tax money. Most immigrants come to America to create a better life than the one they’re trying to get away from. Americans should embrace immigration along with focusing on the positive aspects it brings because it strengthens families, it is cost effective towards our economy, and it can help bring down the rate of racial profiling. Currently it has become a huge argument in Arizona where the law of “probable cause” has ultimately been discarded from the ethnic group of Latinos. Officers in Arizona are now being allowed to target those of certain ethnic groups, and check the immigration status of anyone they stop for any reason. (Ben Brumfield) Racial profiling has a nationwide affect, women and children are greatly affected by these policies. In Arizona, a 10 year old girl was held in foster care for almost three months while her parents were being detained in an immigration detention center. (“By Allowing Racial Profiling in Arizona, the Supreme Court Undermines the Well-Being of Women and Families”). The fear is being stirred up nationwide by young adults who fear that their parents will be singled out and possibly detained because the color of their skin.
