Immigration is one of the biggest on going situations all over the United States Of America. The immigrant population has skyrocketed from the early 90’s to the year of 2017. Most of the immigrant population that comes over to the, United States already have local relatives that are permanently staying or were already born here. However there isn’t really a steady rate of refugees the numbers go up and down from time to time. As some immigrants are coming to the United States some are leaving at the same time which is where the decrease comes in to play in statistics. There was a program called Development, Relief, and Education for Alien Minors (DREAM). Most of the time illegal immigrants are part of families that were already authorized US born citizens and come to stay permanently. Immigrants are surprisingly entering the US legally crossing the border and obtaining visas rather than illegally. However unauthorized immigrants are available to obtain a green card but cannot alter their legal status from inside of the United States. If they are caught trying to enter the US after leaving once could face serious jail time. The only way they can obtain a green card is by having a relative that is a US born citizen. They cannot chose to change their status to stay permanently because they did not have documentation from their native country to be admitted into the US. Immigrants have a better chance of getting a job than natural born US citizen. That is because they are offered forgiveness temporary for deportation and are given authorization to work in the US. The program that allows immigrants to work in the US is called The Deferred Action for Parents of Americans (DACA). There are more Latino immigrants than other ethnicity that come into the USA a report shows. That is because some of the Latino roots are already in the US and the families are reuniting. Another way an immigrant can legally stay in the US is, if they get married to an American born Citizen and obtain a visa. By law if they become divorced the immigrant will be deported back to their country they were born in. Immigrants have a less chance of getting in trouble than an American citizen would shows an FBI crimes statistics report.
