According to BloombergBusiness college tuition in the U.S. again rises faster than inflation. Tuition and fees at most private nonprofit colleges have claimed more the 3.7 percent with an average of more than $31,231.00 per year according to a report by College Board. College tuition is a topic that is constantly brought up in the students mind constantly. Most believe that the cost of college has become outrageous and have thought about dropping out of school multiple times.

About 79 percent of college seniors at a four-year school graduate with high student debt. With that being said why hasn’t something been done about helping students out with college debt? Has it been brought up about college tuition being lowered …show more content…

First we need to look at the teachers, and how they are getting paid. If we were to lower the cost of tuition at some schools wouldn’t that cause teachers to leave and go to other schools that charge more for their students to attend knowing that the teachers will be able to make more since the school is making more. So by the school not getting paid what they are currently or what they expect to make it will not help ensure that the college is staff with good professors and good people, the administration has to be able to pay them properly to be sure that you are going to be paying for an education. With that being said I know personally now I am paying a lot of money just to go to a Community college and I work full time. If I am paying for school doesn’t that make you want to work hard at school? I spend about $2,000 a semester on 14 credits. Do you think that I am going not show up for class or not try hard to get a good education since I am paying a lot of money? If college was free like public school then you would have kids treat it like high school and not show up, think that they can get away with anything and expect for it to be handed over to them. Another con to lowering college tuition is the potential for better buildings and classroom equipment. First off with it like less money being taken out of your wallet, this will allow students to be able to save money and have that money to move forward with their lives. This can also allow them to pursue with their career and allow them to take additional courses and get certifications that maybe they couldn’t before because of how much money they had to pay out of college up front. With a lower tuition it will allow a lot more people the chance to go to college because they can now afford it. By tuition being lowered it can lead to students not having to settle for an undergraduate degree and can allow them the chance to purse advanced degrees. This could allow the number of students that attend four year bachelor degrees to increase because they are not forced to attend community colleges due to the price. This will allow the number of students at community colleges that continue their education onto a four year college to increase and help them out.
