Picture this: Your best friend is moving away forever. You go to school for 7 hours. When you finally come home, you have 4 more hours of homework to do. You are so busy that you can’t see your best friend for the last time before they move away. Your sweet, innocent eyes turn into an ocean while you think about never wanting to go to school again. This is just one example that shows that school is too long and is keeping kids from doing what matters to them,and important to them. The school day is too long and with the extension of homework, students don't have any personal time to themselves. Therefore, middle school students don't have enough of their own time to activities that matter to them because of the school days and homework.

By shortening the school day to 4 days will help free up some extra time for them. Weekends only provide two days to rest and clear your mind out of the five days of school. This ratio 2:5 shows how students have less than half the days of school to unwrap their minds and relax. Kids have a life that they want to live and have very little time to do so. Shortening the school week to four days would give students a little more than half their school days to relax.
