Wes 2 had a mom who tried to have an authoritative parenting style where she gave love and discipline, but because of their unfortunate circumstances she could not get control of Wes 2 and her parenting style was essentially uninvolved. On the other hand, Wes 1 went to military school where he was given many authoritative mentors, such as Captain Hill, who gave discipline and guidance (Moore, 97). Children who go through an uninvolved parenting style are the least likely to fit society’s norms, while kids who go through an authoritative parenting style are more likely to fit society’s norms (Textbook, 427). These different upbringings could be why Wes 1 is an outstanding citizen and Wes 2 is in jail right

The Articles of Confederation was one of the first forms of the Constitution established, but it was replaced with the current Constitution because it failed to establish unity. The Articles of Confederation was a more simple and weak version of the Constitution. In the Articles of Confederation, all power was given to the state such as collecting taxes while congress had close to no power. Each state had more power than congress and the people combined. The AOC failed to establish laws limiting citizens to their rights.
The parenting paradigm style most exemplified by the Walls family in The Glass Castle a memoir by Jeannette Walls is permissive. Permissive parents are often justified as merely disciplining their children (Cherry, “The Four Styles of Parenting”). Jeannette states that “Dad squatted in front of us” and asked, “so what happened here” to his children who got into an altercation with one of the neighborhood kids (89). Rex Walls demonstrates his inability to rightfully discipline his children for a crime that they committed, by simply just brushing it off and agreeing to skedaddle, or run away from the incident, once again. Permissive parents are also described as being more responsive than they are demanding (Cherry).

The story Charles by Shirley Jackson, features Robbie, a defiant boy raised by parents who struggle setting essential punishments. The Veldt by Ray Bradbury, showcases two children, Wendy and Peter, who are neglected by their parents, relying on machines and technology for their development. The actions of children in The Veldt eventually deteriorate, responding to their parent's spoiling, yet careless manners. Discipline and quality time spent with your children, is the key to authoritative parenting.

Throughout the movie, Parenthood, the three main parenting styles were displayed throughout as, the dictator, permissive, and democratic. The dictator form of parenting, also known as the authoritarian parent sets strict rules and guidelines and will not changing them or give any leeway. Children that have authoritarian parents usually have low self-esteem and trouble to do things on their own when they get older. Then there is the permissive parent, who rather than setting rules and guidelines, opts out of this, their discipline is not seen and if they do set rules, they don 't punish when the rules are broken. There is also a balance of good parenting seen in the democratic form.
Styles of Parenting 1) Authoritarian parenting is a style of parenting where the parents provide low levels of warmth and support accompanied by a high level of control over the children. An excellent example of authoritarian parenting is depicted in That 70's show by the main protagonist's (Eric) father, Red Foreman. The show's plot often is driven by Eric's attempt to hide his hijinks from his strict father in fear of punishment or the classic "my-foot-in-your-ass" threats. Red does not often show any warmth or support towards his son, whether it be spending quality time together or giving any type of compliment.
There are three main categories of parenting styles. These parenting styles include permissive, authoritative and authoritarian. Patock-Peckham and Morgan-Lopez (2006) describe permissive parenting as when children control their own activities, with little or no rules or monitoring, and allowing the children to make adult-like decisions before they have properly matured enough. Parents might think that no discipline and having fun is the way to go, but in reality, it can cause children to be irresponsible and disrespectful. When children are making their own choices, the decisions that are made are typically not the best ones.
Identify one (1) television show or movie that depicts an authoritarian style of parenting, one (1) that depicts an authoritative style of parenting, and one (1) that depicts a permissive style of parenting. Explain the effect that each of the three (3) styles has on the children. The type of discipline you use can have a dramatic effect on your child’s development. Your discipline strategies can have a major impact on the type of relationship you have with your child. The different approaches to discipline can even influence a child’s mood and temperament into adulthood.
This style involves setting limits, but being flexible (not making few rules or creating unquestionable laws/rules), encouraging responsibility and paying attention to and being sympathetic towards the child (not using any discipline at all or using very strict punishment), and consider themselves as guides (not authorities or friends). What are the limitations of Baumrind’s description of parenting styles? Baumrind didn’t consider socioeconomic, cultural, or temperamental distinctions, didn’t focus on the parent’s actions, didn’t acknowledge that some authoritarian parents are also loving, and did not recognize that some permissive and lenient parents provide a great amount of verbal guidance to their children. I want to explain mainly what the parenting style are. According to Baumrind and her colleagues, there are three parenting styles. These are authoritative, authoritarian, and permissive parenting styles. Baumrind focused on communication and interaction between parents and child. Authoritarian parenting style; parents who have an authoritarian parenting style set strict rules for their children and rules are important for these parents.
Like permissive parents, authoritative parents are responsive, nurturing, and involved. But unlike permissive parents, authoritative parents don’t let their children get away with bad behaviour. Authoritative parents take a firm stand, anticipating that their kids should carry on dependably. Like tyrant guardians, legitimate guardians uphold rules. As a psychologist, I feel that authoritative parenting style helps in developing their social behaviour while authoritarian degrades it.
