We need to get to the root of progressive education and better development of the young mind of the generations to come. Growing up, I was always a curious child. Lusting for adventure. A thrill. To discover and learn something new. The definition of education is determination and willingness to learn. Not determined by grades, obedience to the system. Learning is not sitting and reading a book about a subject. Learning is going out and figuring out the world on your own, not being told what to do. Not to be told that you are wrong. Constantly being told that the way you learn was incorrect. School never taught me anything, just taught me that the education system is so simple but so difficult. Sitting down and reading is absolutely horrendous. Sitting down and blankly starring at a wall is more productive then the school system in my opinion when it comes to actually learning.

It’s studying, actually experience the subject. To be taught about a subject. For the young mind it is mostly known that students need activity to keep their minds productive. Students stay up late for many nights to study for a big test and during the day they fall asleep, getting in trouble when they are trying to do well on the test, but that’s just students being lazy right? Young adults need around 7-9 hours of sleep every day. But they stay up to study a subject and when the test is done, everything they knew about the subject is gone and most likely not going to be remembered. They didn’t learn about the subject. They only memorized a few key things and put their bodies under serious stress due to sleep deprivation. School has hurt the student more than help. And the worse thing is, sitting for hours on end. Students get depressed being inside all day just sitting and doing their work. Some even gain weight from the lack of
