Will you Agree with the Rise of Minimum Wage?
Minimum wage has been something people talk about for years. There is of course are two sides to this debate. Many people agree and back up their decision in why it should be change. While the other side does have a different perspective about changing the minimum wage and feel life it should not be changed. Both sides a have great information to support their decision but the one that will have a better outcome will be chosen. The question is why now? Why do people decide that the minimum wage should be higher? Also why do people not agree with raising the minimum wage if it was been done for many years? Inflation is one of the problems troubling people in lower class, but some people think inflation is not affecting us and if it did the government would help. It was talked about how raising the minimum wage can affect businesses and even have jobs loss. When looking back the minimum wage has not been the same because the government “has changed it 22 times”(Labor, Department). This would not be the first time minimum wage was changed. Inflation would be what people worry about the increase in minimum wage, but an article mentioned “Congress sets the minimum wage, but it doesn't keep pace with inflation”(Labor, Department). Our prices could be high right now for the everyday worker and still earn the same amount of money and trying to keep up with the rising prices. Businesses can come out successful with the workers earning more; consumers will have the better urge to spend. When businesses start selling more they can grow and make another store, but most of all it will help workers get paid and have money to make the product sold.
