No one ever said school was easy. It takes quite a bit of hard work and preparation from both the students and teachers. All within a school year there are different homework, assignments, projects, tests, quizzes, presentations and much more to try and fit into an already busy course schedule. To add to that the Education Reform Law of 1993 was introduced to schools, which required that all public school students have to be tested in the subjects of English Language Arts, Mathematics, and Science and Technology Engineering. Those set of tests are called Massachusetts Comprehensive Assessment System (MCAS) and they are meant to measure students performance based on the Massachusetts Curriculum Framework.
Standardized testing not only stresses out students, but it also leads the teachers to go in a dilemma whether to focus on the curriculum or to get students ready for the standardized testing. No one has ever enjoyed taking a test in his or her entire educational history. Similarly Mr. Estrada’s 4th grade class was not every excited about taking standardized test. Each student has his or her own level of learning. As the students were taking the test, I noticed some students were panicking, while others were confused.
Since 2006, overall SAT scores have dropped by 21 points. It is safe to say that the increase in standardized testing has done more bad than good. When standardized testing became more prominent, the National Assessment of Educational Progress (NAEP) saw a plateau in reading and math scores. Additionally, the NAEP saw no further closure in the test score gap. The test score gap affects all minorities.

For example, they may be used to determine a young child’s readiness for kindergarten, identify students who need special-education services or specialized academic support, place students in different academic programs or course levels, or award diplomas and other educational certificates. This would take pressure off of students during standardized tests, allow colleges to see how well-rounded the students are, and give students who are better in other areas

This is what students feel from third though twelfth grade thanks to Standardized Testing. Standardized tests are bad because they do not demonstrate a student’s level of intelligence or true knowledge base but instead demonstrate their ability to take a test.

Therefor, We should have state testing because it holds schools accountable for what they need to teach their students, along with giving objective measures. To start things off, standardized testing holds schools accountable for what the need to teach their students. To make it understandable, Ohio is starting to implement, or put into effect, a school accountability system.
Introduction The wealthy have hijacked the educational system Programs, such as standardized testing, are formed by corporate foundations. So, money is going towards these tests instead of the schools and children. There are also many charter schools now and they do not support public schools. They are there to put them out of business. If this money was redireected towards the public educational system it would greatly influence learning.
Students in schools all across America are evaluated through standardized tests every year, with many different forms of analysis. The Forward Exam. The Aspire Exam. The MAP, the ACT, the SAT. The assessments may very well be the backbone of our education system, a simple way to measure and compare the understanding of participants, and the quality of schools across the nation.

My first reason supporting that schools are placing too much emphasis on standardized testing is that schools make too much unnecessary tests. Schools have annual testing and if the school did not get good test scores they would suffer severe consequences. Sadly, the poor test takers or students that were so frustrated preparing for the test. Would be reflect on the teacher and the school. These excessive bad grades will lead the school to being closed down and a lost jobs.
When it comes to standardized testing, there are many problems that have come with it. In 2001 the Federal Government put in effect the No Child Left Behind Act. Schools would receive a grade on their students test score and if they failed the standardized testing 5 years in a row, the school would be closed. Students would be tested on reading, math and science.

Students shouldn’t take standardized tests. With testing, students have too much pressure, They can have a better end of the year, and it takes up learning time.
Chatter of standardized testing filled the halls almost every year. Teachers were rushing around trying to cram the last minute essentials into their students’ heads before the test dates that were rapidly approaching. Administration was very positive that the students would do well and gave encouragement anytime that they could. Parents were sent home letters about making sure their student ate a good meal the night before the test, as well as a good breakfast. Also encouraging them to send their child to bed early so they would be well rested for the next day’s adventures of the exam.
Although some believe that video games do not compare to traditional art, video games should be considered art because they include various types of art. Standardized tests are tests designed to evaluate a student’s performance and as well as the teacher’s performance where these tests contain the same set or common questions which are taken by the students annually in the same way (The Johnson Center, n.d.). However, these tests may also vary depending on which of the student’s or school’s ability would they like to evaluate. Standardized tests are of different forms. There are tests intended to evaluate a student’s learning and academic progress¬—if a student was able to learn what he/she was supposed to learn¬—over a period of time.
