As human beings, we often feel as if we are entitled to change if there are things we do not like about a situation. When looking at the Atlantic revolutions, it is clear that each one started in the hopes to bring change to a country. That doesn’t necessarily always make them successful, but there are some revolutions where change brings good. With that being said some good may still bring bad, in this essay we are going to take a look at the American revolution and address how it established a successful, fortunate ruling of what was rightfully theirs and were able to gain control of their own power as well as see if it fit the “glue” per say on what a revolution should really look like. The government who are in most times going against will try to prevent any opposing forces but as it is too late at this time each party will prepare to fight for the ruling of their beliefs. The second stage is called the radical stage, in your typical revolution this is the time when the new government starts to kick in and new laws are enforced, with that being so this can be a time when violence breaks out because people choose to neglect from the new ways. And finally, the reactionary stage where a society continues and tries to redevelop into the new “norm”. This is a very good start as it began to separate the church and state that before the war had a dramatic impact on people’s academic, political, and religious views. The second being it brings on a much more welcoming standpoint on the attitudes towards slaves, as well as women. As they both assumed greater responsibilities during the revolution, it allowed them to be more respected for their contributions and seen as a more respected. Slaves had even gained the right to buy their freedom, which doesn’t seem very great, but was a big step in the right direction, and an even bigger step in some northern states they adopted anti- slavery legislations.
