America faces its greatest dilemma, yet. The American government is telling the citizens of the United States that that World War 2 is drawing towards a conclusion, in Europe. The newspapers are all reporting an almost assured victory. Italy has long since surrendered. It’s being reported that Hitler has holed himself up in a fortress that was specially and specifically built for him. Some speculation has even made its way to various outlets that now claim Hitler has relinquished control: some say he’s incapable of leading and that military commanders (those that have begun their descent from the furor) have begun negotiating terms of surrender; some are even claiming the furor is dead, by hands none other than his own. It would have two options, again, but neither is capable of yielding a formidable front that would land on the western shores of America. It could either sail its ships to Alaska, which would require them to march Russian troops through Alaska and Canada, or attempt to sail around its own peninsula in the Sea of Okhotsk into the North Pacific Ocean. Again, neither provides realistic options. Both create a funneling effect that would make naval aviators easy targets. Ships would be packed with tanks, rations, arms, etc. The vast majority would fall prey to American bombers and destroyers and would sink deep into the cold depths of the Pacific. Russia would have direct access to the western shores of America and Mexico. Which, when they landed, would allow them to wage war from Washington to Mexico, launching full scale attacks from the North, West, South, and eventually East if they took control of the Gulf of Mexico and inevitably Florida.
