Causes and Effects of World War II Name: Institution: Course Code: Introduction The World War II started 1939 to 1945, was one of the defining events of the 20th century, which took place all across Europe, the Pacific, the Middle East, Africa and Asia, but briefly parts of North America and Mainland Australia. Throughout the war, technology changed greatly. This was evident in that; when the war broke out, world war-I battleships were still in use and by 1945, jet aircrafts, ballistic, missiles radar-guided anti-aircrafts guns and missiles, assault rifles, bazookas Napalm and atomic bombs were introduced. Between 9.8 million and 10.4 million casualties were civilians murdered for political or racial reasons by the Nazi regime. Deaths were unequally distributed across countries whether they were military death due to combat, civilian deaths or the holocausts. There was creation of the united Nation and new Economic organization. This was despite the failure of the League of Nation to stop the outbreak of the World War II, believed to have been too weak to stop the aggressive maneuvering of Germany, Japan and Italy. However a stronger organization was created with leader hoping to avoid a recurrence of the Great Depression. This led to a series of economic agreements and organizations to structure the postwar international. Allied leader planned on avoiding the previous mistake of interwar period by forming a series of powerful international organizations. They sought to punish the perpetrators of holocaust and of Nazi war crimes in the Nuremberg trials.
