As of last year’s election we all can say there were surely disputes, but who do we blame? Well, many articles have come out stating their opinions on the Electoral College whether it served its purpose or not. For example Corrie Goldman from The Humanities at Stanford say that “Why do we still let the Electoral college pick our president?” And his point of view clearly states he is strongly against the idea, he claims that “I could say fatal – flaws. One is that it violates the one person rule, one vote rule, which should be the proper rule of a modern democracy.” Many articles are out there defending the Electoral College existence, for example Allen Guelzo and James Hulme from The Washington Post tell us a different story, in there article …show more content…

As the President of the United States you have many duties to your country. In an article written by the Lone Star College in there article “Reform for Electoral College” they infer that “The Presidency is considered the nucleus of the American political system.” Which supports the main disputes and why they exist, we need to know why this affect us, and if there were change what are the advantages/disadvantages. That’s why we need to be educated in the subject before we make any changes. In the next body paragraphs I will be showing many disputes and solutions, to help you make a decision. When the making of the Electoral College, the founding fathers took into condensation that the small states might not be noticed, so they had to take some of the electoral votes from the bigger states. And to add on to the existence Allen Guelzo and James Hulme go on to say that “It may appear inefficient. But the Founders were not interested in efficiency; they were interested in securing “the blessings of liberty.” With this in mind we can conclude that we do need change within its system, but its core values are at heart a system to help us.
