Although the Industrial Revolution is largely responsible for the rapid expansion and growth of America's early economy and therefore is viewed by many as a positive time in history, there is a dark side to that era that often goes unspoken of. Many people tend to forget that our climb to economic supiriority was on the backs of the most innocent of our society: our children. Families often had six or more children, and were not always able to provide for them. The solution to this problem was sending the children to work and help support the family, often in factories and mills.
