Whaling refers to hunting of whales. Whales are mainly hunted for meat and oils. It is a cultural activity of Japan and Norway. Whaling is considered to be brutal and inhumane in several parts of the world. In 2000, a United Nations conference was held debating whether whaling should be banned or not. However, whaling was not banned as the two countries claimed that the whales that are being hunted are not endangered (Wildlife Protection and Cultural Rights | Globalization101, 2013).
1. The Norwegian and Japanese people should not be allowed to hunt whales. Primarily, as logical human beings we should understand that it is immoral and brutal to kill such beautiful beings. Furthermore, even though the whales that are being hunted are not endangered species, but slowly due the hunting the population of these species will become extinct, not endangered. Whale banning cannot be considered as a destroying the freedom of these nations. This is because if a nation is making an error, then it is the duty of another countries to correct it. For instance: if a country is damaging the environment and henceforth will ultimately cause destruction to the whole humanity, then it is essential that others intervene. This cannot be considered as taking control over the country. Rather, others are guiding the country to do what is right. Furthermore, no one has the authority to abuse the right of others. For example: even animals have certain rights, injuring and harming them cannot be considered as the right of a nation.
