Romeo & Juliet is a classic story but still despite the timeless feel of the story it is hard to comprehend in this time period. This stems for the fact that the story of Romeo & Juliet takes place in 1300’s where things were very different both culturally and socially. Culturally people did not get a divorce because they were not only married in the eyes of the law they were also married in the eyes of God. They also did not marry for love they married for advantage for example like gaining more wealth or power.
