Had Harry noticed the hate Thula had towards Joe? Was he naive or did he not care enough to address it?
He tries to help Ponyboy and he doesn't want pony to go the same path as he or Dally. He has a kind personality and putting him in a gang doesn't really match his personality. He acts like he is actually tough and part of the gang, but it really isn't him. He is kind which makes him weak, he is emotionally weak. That is bad to be emotional, especially when you are a
and I’ll try to believe what I said, but in reality I know what I said is absolutely not true at all! Which now that I think about it is really funny, and I can also connect with Ponyboy on another personal level. When he says “I don’t care about Dally.” I automatically thought about me and how I’ve said I don’t care about someone when I really do. And it made me really feel connected to Ponyboy and the book itself because I can relate to to what’s going on, not just in the passage
If anybody messes and gets in his way, Dally will beat them up. Dally is the most meanest and unforgiving person in the gang. Pony doesn’t really like the way he acts to everybody. Dally has been aggressive all his life.
When Pony surveys the gang before the rumble, we get some valuable insight into each of the surveyed boys. Their responses allow us to understand each character a little more. Their answers reflect who they are and what they think of the world, However, two members of the gang were not present at this inquiry; Dally and Johnny. Though they weren't there, it’s fairly easy to guess what they could have answered based on how they act and what they say.
The boys turned to Dally for help when they needed it because Dally has been to jail before and he knew where to hide out. Ponyboy and Johnny turned to Dally for help when Johnny killed a Soc. They needed help from Dally because he had been to jail many times and so he knew where all the hideouts were. In the text right after Johnny kills a Soc they go over to Dally and Dally tells them,”Hop the three-fifteen freight to Windrixville.” He must then know where the hideouts are when he tells more about where they need to go.
The biggest theme in Frankenstein is secrecy. There are multiple reasons to believe this in the book, and the movie Frankenweenie. In Frankenweenie Victor is forced to show Edgar how he brought his dog back to life to be able to keep Sparky a secret. When Victor first created the monster he was so scared he just left it alone, giving away that he doesn’t want to take responsibility for it or let anyone know that he was the one who created him. Victor could have avoided Justine being hung if he would have spoken up about the monster.
Ponyboy didn’t even listen to Dally (the most dangerous person in the gang) when he shouted, “Get outa there! That roof’s gonna cave in any minute. Forget those blasted kids!”
Johnny and Dally both live similar lives. Their parents don’t care about them, and they both know it. Without his parents care and attention, Dally ends up in jail at the age of ten, while Johnny gets beat up by his father, yelled at by his mother, or completely ignored altogether. He tells Ponyboy ““I walk in that house, and nobody says anything.
In chapter 5 Dally stated “I told him I didn’t know where you were but he didn’t believe me”. This shows that only Dally knew were Johnny and Ponyboy were and even though Sodapop Ponyboys brother wanted to know so badly where Ponyboy was Dally kept the secret and didn’t let it out. This shows that even though Sodapop was Dally’s friend he still kept his secret for Johnny and Ponyboy to keep them
One of the reasons that I predicted the kids will not meet Boo is because he is locked up. Boo has never been seen by anyone in the town. There are stories that he committed crimes and the beadle of the town locked him in the courthouse basement because he wouldn’t lock him up with the negros. For his crimes throughout the town, he was also sent to the state industrial school. After he returned home from the school Mr. Radley kept him locked up in the house and he was never seen again.
People acknowledged him, but never engaged him like they did Pete. Harry tried to start conversations, but he did so with questions. Harry never made a bold action. He is always timid and insecure about what he is doing. Moreover, the party died.
Jem has not yet learned about the prejudice that Maycomb’s people have and does not understand what Mrs. Dubose’s life is like. Not understanding Mrs. Dubose’s point of view, Jem aggressively destroys her front yard. Jem also allows rumors to cloud his view of Arthur Radley, otherwise known as Boo. Many people in Maycomb fear Boo due to his habit of staying indoors during the day. Their fear causes them to judge Boo as a malevolent person.
Analysis of Piggy in Lord of the Flies Though physically vulnerable and socially inept, Piggy stands as the voice of reason and is the last sense of rationality and innocence among the boys. Though Piggy shows signs of low self esteem and is frequently made fun of, he is intelligent and good natured. Though he acts as Ralph’s advisor and is the most intelligent of the boys, he is often overlooked and his comments are often disregarded. Piggy represents intelligence and civilization, but also is a symbol of reason and innocence. Piggy may well be one of the most important people among the island, but is suppressed by the others, who never realize what great significance he has.
Dally is not strong mentally (when he couldn’t let Johnny go), he really does not do good deeds, and he does not care about any other people than only Johnny, and he’s rude to others and bad at using words. A quotation that supports my statement is, “What for? Get back in here before I beat your head in.” (p.90) This quotation supports my statement because Dally said this to Ponyboy when he hopped off the car and said to see what the deal is when he saw the old church on fire, it proves that Dally does not care about other stuff that does not involve him and that he’s rude to others and using
