Then he went to talk with Cherry and he ask her If she already went to see Johnny but she said that “she couldn’t never see the person who killed her boyfriend”. Ponyboy got mad and told her “you’re a traitor to your own kind and not loyal to fus. Do you think your spying for us makes up the fact that you are sitting there in a Corvette while your brother drops out of school to get a job”.
He is kind to his gang and helps people out and tries to learn but it isn't for him. Johnny also tries to emotionally help Pony when they were crying. He says to Pony, “stay gold, Ponyboy. stay gold…”pg. 148.
The readers can also tell he loved the gang as much as he loved his life (although Ponyboy stated in the book, “life was one big joke to Two-Bit”) but clearly, he was so energetic and lively and funny, how could he not love his life and his gang? For instance, he immediately protested when Cherry
Lastly, Sodapop is always there for his two brothers, he will drop everything for his family no matter what. For example, ¨ Soda just put his hand on my shoulder. " Easy, Ponyboy. They ain't gonna hurt you no more."¨
In the book “The Outsiders” by S. E. Hinton the character Sodapop changed for the better in the final chapters of the book. He changed by telling his brothers that they need to recognize that he has feelings and doesn’t always want to be in the middle of their fights anymore. In the beginning of the book we see very early that Soda is the one that is keeping Darry and Ponyboy together, this is shown on page 17 it states, “Listen, kiddo, when Darry hollers at you . . .
To illustrate, it is said in the book that “Then there were shouts and the pounding of feet, and the Socs jumped up and left me lying there, gasping …. By then I had figured that all the noise I had heard was the gang coming to rescue me” (6-7). This shows that Ponyboy’s friends came to the rescue and saved him from the Socs when they heard him yelling. If not for these friends, Ponyboy could have been seriously injured, or even killed. Moreover, S.E. Hinton wrote, “Johnny asked no questions.
If anybody messes and gets in his way, Dally will beat them up. Dally is the most meanest and unforgiving person in the gang. Pony doesn’t really like the way he acts to everybody. Dally has been aggressive all his life.
Ponyboy didn’t even listen to Dally (the most dangerous person in the gang) when he shouted, “Get outa there! That roof’s gonna cave in any minute. Forget those blasted kids!”
Ponyboy is a Greaser, but he’s not like the other boys in the gang. Ponyboy is independent, heroic, and intelligent. Ponyboy was quiet compared to most of the other boys in his gang. On pages 2 and 3, the book says, “I had a long walk home and no company, but I usually lone it anyway, for no other reason except that
Johnny killed Bob to save ponyboy from drowning. Second, Ponyboy defended Dally when Cherry said: “What's a nice, smart kid like you running around with trash like that for?” (pg.23). Third, Ponyboy said, “When you're in a gang, you stick up for the other members. If you don't stick for them, stick together, make like brothers, it isn't a gang anymore.”
Before the rumble, Ponyboy realized the difference between his gang and the Socs. The greasers weren’t just a gang; they had a strong connection. The Socs were just a gang; they had no compassion, no love. Dally killed himself because of Johnny’s death but Randy hid his feelings not wanting to show them; his reputation mattered more. “That was the difference between his gang and ours- they had a leader and were
Sodapop and Darry. Darry does not love him though, at least he thinks. “Me and Darry just didn’t dig each other. I never could please him.”, as Ponyboy mentions. This is important because Ponyboy does not think Darry likes him and that he might as well not try to please him.
Ponyboy lived with his two brothers Darry and Sodapop after his parents were killed in a car accident. Ponyboy had some friends in the gang: Steve, Two-Bit, Dally but his best friend was a boy named Johnny who was considered the gang`s mascot. Ponyboy was a boy who always wanted to be tough but an accident that happened in the story might make him change of mind on what he wanted to be. He also finds a way of how to finish the gang that was taking place from many tima.
Cannie's currently 13-year-old little girl, Joy. What's more, what she peruses stuns her. She begins to scrutinize her mom's genuineness, and goes looking for reality about her family's history. Then, Cannie's significant other Peter needs to locate a surrogate so he and Cannie can have their own infant together.
Before the rumble Ponyboy realized the difference between his gang and the Socs. “That was the difference between his gang and ours- they had a leader and were organized; we were just buddies who stuck together- each man was his own leader.(Hinton 138)”. The Socs were just a group of adolescents together for social reasons and were engaging delinquent behavior. The greasers stood up for more than that; they stood up for Johnny, for the hard times they’ve been through, for their respect.
