I think this book was amazing, it is about two sisters Olivia and Ruth. Ruth is the older sister that is struggling with her mental health, mainly depression. Olivia is a fun and exciting character but she just wants to play with her sister Ruth but she refuses every time. These two sisters have a strong bond but are going downhill since Ruth's mental health. Olivia and Ruth are both quiet and hid things like in the beginning of the book Ruth walked into Olivia's room and Olivia threw all of the pictures she was looking at under the bed
Olivia is the main protagonist in my book, her role is the younger sister. The most main trait noticed in her is being hidden and hiding from problems, this began to show at the beginning of the book. At the beginning, “As quickly as I can, I slide the four old pictures I’m looking at under my suitcase” (Allen 2). One should get help with your depression if one is struggling. Ruth didn’t explain her emotions to people to late because she ended up at the hospital. She went on to say, “Well,” Ruth finally said. “I know it’s not what you hoped. I’m sorry” (Allen 207) Ruth is a good role model to show expressing mental health is great to do. She shows to express your mental health by telling someone trusting like her sister. Ruth shares with her younger sister Olivia what she is going through and what Olivia can help her with. This proves that one should always express their mental health because it is bad for one to keep inside, people should always express what one is going through. The main theme of the book is mental health should never tear a strong bond
