Why do people choose to change who they are? In modern society, many people are dissatisfied with their own appearance. Therefore, they choose to take the plastic surgery in order to alter what they look, such as rhinoplasty, double eyelid surgery and liposuction. However, Danylo Hawaleshka indicates that a great number of people inclined to tan, even though they know the dangers of tanning in the Maclean’s essay “Cancer be damned, kids want to tan”. Some significant issues are presented in this article: the prevalence of tanning, the dangerousness of tanning, and the effective organization for preventing excessive tan. The example in this article reveals that Health Canada has taken action to achieve their goals. They claimed that tanning salon are supposed to label the warning information on the equipment which used to tan. Moreover, Canadian provinces have prohibited tanning solon offering tanning services to youth who are 18 or 19. All in all, this article demonstrates that the phenomenon of widespread tanning; the harm of tanning; and the organization of restrict children from over tanning. Children are inclined to get tanning, despite they know the bad effective about tanning. They just want to get along with their friends better, or make themselves look more gorgeous and lively. Nonetheless, over tanning is hazardous for people, the most familiar problem is skin cancer, like basal and squamous.
