The Rolling 1960s Vroooooom! The 1960s rolled and shaped the American muscle industry. If the 1960s never happened we would not have most of our sport cars that we have today. This is only a chunk of the 1960s. Outside of cars the 1960s were a very influential decade because Martin Luther King Jr was making his “I have a dream” speech, and the first man was going to space. “I have a dream today” On January 15, 1929 in Atlanta, Georgia a great American activist was born. His name was Martin Luther King Jr. He was an african-American and wondered why he had to attend a different school than white Americans. He soon found out that the nation was in segregation.
