The Scientific Revolution was a time during the Middle Ages when many discoveries were made throughout the world, particularly in America and France. This time period - considered the birth of the modern world - lasted roughly between the 16th and 18th century, and during this time, new ideas fundamentally changed the way people thought. During this same time period, the Age of Enlightenment kicked into high gear and prompted many great philosophers to make changes to society, thus altering the ways in which many people lived.
