They are ignorant because they don’t know important information. This is another problem of a small group of people controlling a larger
When ignorant people are educated they become aware of what is happening around them. One example of trying to educate an ignorant person is when Montag is trying to explain to Mildred what he saw at the burning house. Montag says, “There must be something in books, things we can’t imagine, to make a woman stay in a burning house…” (Bradbury 48). Unfortunately, in this situation Mildred does not take the knowledge that she has just been handed.
Remember when you were a kid and the only thing that mattered was that ice cream cone that you were about to get? Oh to be young and ignorant! Nonetheless, knowledge can affect society. What’s more, is that it is considered that ignorance can positively impact society. On the contrary, ignorance negatively affects society.
The Catholic Church maintains that seven vices in particular to breaking one or more of the Ten Commandments. These particular bad habits are called the Seven Deadly sins because, according to Catholicism, they’re sins that kill the life of sanctifying grace. Pope Gregory the Great made up the list in the 6th century, and in the 14th century, Geoffrey Chaucer popularized them in his Canterbury Tales. In the Bible states , “There are six things the Lord hates, seven that are detestable to him: haughty eyes, a lying tongue, hands that shed innocent blood, a heart that devises wicked schemes, feet that are quick to rush into evil, a false witness who pours out lies and a man who stirs up dissension among brothers” (Proverbs 6:16-19). This means
There are 7 deadly sins, they are lust, gluttony, greed, sloth, wrath, envy, and pride. These deadly sins can be related to almost any novel. There are 4 books that show resemblance to the 7 deadly sins. The books are Silas Marner, The Great Gatsby, Julius Caesar, and Frankenstein, to relate to 4 sins, greed, lust, pride, and wrath. In almost any book, the seven deadly sins are present.
In doing so, ignorance is encouraged and learning restricted. Education is
Ignorance is the lack of knowledge and understanding. Intelligence is the opposite. Ignorance is widely viewed as something bad as it is very damaging to one’s self esteem. But what would happen in a society filled with just that? Ray Bradbury writes about that in his book Fahrenheit 451.
For centuries, women have been taught that the Seven Deadly Sins are things to be avoided at all costs. Pride, greed, lust, envy, gluttony, wrath, and sloth are seen as the hallmarks of a bad person, and women who indulge in these sins are often labeled as "bad girls" or "sluts." But what if the Seven Deadly Sins are not so bad for women? What if they are essential for our liberation?
God has commanded us in His Torah, "Keep my decrees and laws, since it is only by keeping them a person can (truly) live" . Therefore if one 's life is in danger, he may violate any law to save or heal himself. The only exception to this rule are three important sins which one may not transgress under any circumstances, even at the expense of one 's life. They are: idolatry, murder, and sexual crimes . Since these sins outweigh life because of basic stringencies, one must be martyred rather then transgress them under all circumstances.
Greed, lust, gluttony, sloth, wrath, envy, and pride. Ever since the Middle Ages the Roman Catholic Church has portrayed flaws within humanity as the seven deadly sins. While this concept isn’t new, sins represent how evil can come in many different forms. True evil comes from within and is defined by an action committed with disregard for other living beings; or in other words self-interest. Self-interest is something all humans are born with and often synonymous to the seven deadly sins.
Ignorance is an odd thing. Many people berate people who are unknowing, but then always say that ignorance is bliss. Is ignorance truly bliss? Yes, ignorance is a true bliss, because when someone is ignorant, they will never know. Ignorant people don’t have the knowledge to understand that they are anything but oblivious.
The Seven Deadly Sins are most commonly used in the Christian faith. They describe seven different sins that, when committed in excess, lead one’s spirit to damnation. Abigail Williams from Arthur Miller’s The Crucible commits several of these sins, including lust, envy, and wrath. These sins will also have a “domino” effect, for if one hadn’t been committed, then the other two would not have been, either. The first sin that Abigail commits is Lust.
In the Inferno, Dante describes the different levels of hell and the punishment which corresponds to the sin. Dante categorize hell into three major sins consisting of incontinence, violence, and fraudulent. Fraudulent is portrayed as the worse sin in the Inferno while incontinence is seen as a less serious sin. Each category has sinners which have all been punished for their wrong doings in life. The three major sins consist of circles where Dante separates the different sinners.
If you want to achieve ignorance, you will successfully do that. You will always successfully miss 100% of the shots you never take in a hockey game--and in life. The Law of Success says that whatever you do is going to work. Now, whether or not you do things well or poorly, do healthy things or unhealthy things, do things with quality or lack of quality, do things to make you attractive or unattractive, do things that make you rich or make you poor, is all up to you.
Dante’s Inferno details the long journey of Dante and Virgil, throughout the bowels of Hell, or the Inferno. Dante’s Inferno is organized into nine different levels, each distributing a different and awful punishment to every different sin. The main sins include the seven deadly sins, “Wrath, Sloth, Lust, Greed, Pride, Gluttony, Envy”, he also included “Treachery” and “Violence”. The three sins that I believe fit their sins would be “Wrath/Sulleness”, “Greed” and “Gluttony”.
