All of the deadly sins affect the way we live or the way we act. According to Dante, the seven deadly sins in order from are; lust, gluttony, greed, sloth, wrath, envy, and pride (Alighieri). Out of the seven deadly sins, I believe wrath is the worst sin someone can commit and should be placed in the center of hell. Wrath is an extreme and uncontrollable amount of hate and anger. This deadly sin stands out in today’s society because it effect’s social media, increase in violence, and personal feelings. Wrath causes nothing but a negative outcome. In today’s society people are wrapped up in posting and tweeting about what they are doing, how they feel, or whom they are with. These actions were taken to the extreme when, Elliot Roger used Youtube to broadcast his feelings about being rejected by some women. Shortly after Elliot posted the video he had stabbed to death all 3 roommates and had then gone on a shooting rampage throughout California. Elliot’s rage left casualties and some wounded. According to the Daily News, “Ali Muhammad Brown described his June murder of 19-year-old Brendan Tevlin as a "just kill" and said it was an act of "vengeance" meant to compensate for U.S. military killings in the Middle East” (Wagner). The actions Brown had made against my friend is beyond words. Brown didn’t target, murder, and rob Brendan for his car and money like the reporters originally thought. Brown had murdered him in cold blood to have revenge on the US. “ “All these lives are taken every single day by America, by this government. So a life for a life” said the devout Muslim” (Wagner). Those chilling remarks from brown will never bring Brendan back but it made Brown face the death penalty, which he had deserved.
