I chose to write on an incident that occurred on Feb 26, 20102, in Sanford, Florida. George Zimmerman a 28 year old mixed Hispanic male shot and killed Trayvon Martin. Zimmerman was a volunteer neighborhood watch coordinator, in a gated community in Florida. While on duty, Zimmermann had a concealed weapon and carried a 9mm pistol. (Zimmerman did have a legal permit).
Lola Akingbade, a St. Louis resident and third year student of Northeastern University, took action after the event of Brown’s death from Officer Wilson. In the event, 18-year old Michael Brown, a black teenager, was shot, unarmed, by white police officer Darren Wilson. This stirred a few problems, but mainly racial issues. Many African-Americans took to violence and started rampaging throughout Missouri. After these protests and riots, Lola decided to survey the people of St. Louis for their opinion on racial issue.
Michael Brown was shot and killed on August 9, 2014, in Ferguson, Missouri which is a suburb of St. Louis, Missouri. Michael Brown, an 18 year old man, was fatally shot by Darren Wilson, a 28 year old police officer. Michael Brown was African-American and Darren Wilson is white. Since the shooting occurred there have been protests both peaceful and violent. These protests revolve around two things, perceived racial profiling and police brutality.
On August 9, 2014, Darren Wilson, a white police officer, shot and killed Michael Brown, who was an unarmed African American teenager in Ferguson Missouri. The jury’s verdict towards Officer Wilson was not brutal because he should have gotten life in prison since Michael Brown had his hands up before shots were fired, even though Officer Wilson was attacked it is always the last resort to fire at a human being, and the bias of the jury effected the results of the verdict. At 11:54 a.m., Michael Brown and Dorian Johnson stole a few cigarillos from the Ferguson Market and Liquor store according to a surveillance video. Walking on a street known as West Florissant Avenue and the also Canfield Drive at 12:01 p.m.
April 29th, 2017, Saturday night. Young 15 year old Jordan Edwards was shot and killed by a police officer while leaving a gathering in Balch Spring, Texas. The cause of death was a gunshot wound to the head. It was reported that the police who shot Jordan, only reacted in such a way because the car that the 15 year old got into was reversing dramatically.
After finishing him, he left the body at the scene of wrongdoing within hours later and the began. It could have been an issue of many dissidents claim that the protest was out of line, and they trust that Michael Brown was faultless. The"Ferguson Police Department releases the name of the cop and the image showing Brown robbing a convenience store immediately before was shot and killed. “ (Hill, Dean, 2014). The officer did not stop him for the robbery he got stop for blocking traffic and for walk in the middle of the street,hours later after the documents came out claim him as a primary suspect.
Fortunately, the shot did not hit anymore. Just an hour later James Martin was shot and killed in a parking lot at a grocery store (Hickey, 2016). The next day shots rang out again this time in Rockville, Maryland where James Burchanan Jr. was shot and killed while he mowed his lawn (Hickey, 2016). Sara Ramos was sitting on a bench in a shopping center when she was shot and killed. Just a few miles away in Kensington, Maryland, Lori Ann Lewis-Revera was vacuuming her car when she was shot and killed.
February 26th, 2012, 17 year old Trayvon Martin was shot and killed by George Zimmerman, a community watch volunteer while walking home from a convenience store. In a 911 call, Zimmerman stated Martin was just walking around and up to no good. The dispatcher advised Zimmerman not to follow Trayvon and wait for a police officer to arrive. George Zimmerman proceeded to shoot Trayvon Martin, killing him. Based on physical evidence and the testimony provided by Zimmerman it was viewed that he acted in “self-defense”.
Michael Shultz has been charged with involuntary manslaughter with concerns to shooting his cousin Jeremy Hatfield. The New Mexico juvenile court system has charged him with involuntary manslaughter under their definition that he displayed a reckless regard for safety and irresponsibility (Peters, 2013). The author does not believe that Schultz should even be charged and that adult parties should be charged for him having obtained access to a handgun. Additionally, the concerns by the author of Schultz age and mental capabilities as that of a teenager are factors that he believes are such that the involuntary manslaughter charge should not be rendered against Schultz.

An alleged police raid turned into a pivotal event in history that takes place Valentine's Day February 14th, 1929. The supposed killer of the massacre was Al Capone, also known as Scarface. He was one of the most famous gangsters during the 1920’s.

The death of Michael Brown, a young African-American, happened just over a year ago. The community of Ferguson, Missouri came together to peacefully protest in honor of Michael, and fulfill the Black Lives Matter movement; although once things began to escalate, the police presence became stronger. Police forces are often expressed as being separate from military or other organizations involved in the defense of the state against attackers. However, with the Ferguson protests and riots the police chose to use many tactics in order to diminish the protests and riots. After the African-American teen Trayvon Martin was shot and killed by a police officer, the hashtag and movement, #BlackLivesMatter, was created.
